The beauty outside and the mild fall weather make it a blessing to live in Broken Bow, OK! What do you love most about fall? In addition to the pumpkins, cider, and other seasonal goodies to be found, there are some great community events going on that you will not want to miss and the Lumberjax Festival is one of them. This is the 10th year for the Wright City Lumberjax Festival and it is one of the favorite fall events in our area that brings people together from a number of different communities. If you are looking for a reason for a little fall getaway, this is a great opportunity to see the beauty of McCurtain County, meet some new friends and have a ton of fun. It will be taking place October 11th, 2014 so there is still time to get your plans on the calendar! The festival will kick off with a delicious pancake breakfast followed by a 5K Run/Walk for those who want to get moving. The rest of the festival events start at 10am and will include live music by Dead Snake Road and other local entertainers, forestry events, a 2 on 3 basketball tournament, volleyball tournament, horseshoe tournament, soapbox derby, boat race, petting zoo, and an archery shoot. In addition you can enter the art, quilt or photography show and you will want to stop by the host of crafts and vendors that will be on hand. Of course, there most definitely will be no shortage of delicious food to try as well.

These festivities will only be a quick 20-minute drive from Beavers Bend Creative Escapes so after a day of fun, you can return to your cozy cabin and relax by the fireplace or read on your private porch.
