The car produced a staggering 135 horse power at that time and heads turned and fans were born. The 1960s were pretty much the golden years for muscle cars and cars started to be manufactured purely for drag racing. Dodge,[...]

Unplugged…to be or not to be

We all need it but seldom do it. I swore to myself that I wasn't going to work this past weekend but, guess what, I did. I visited Chicago with my husband and had plans of shopping and unwinding. A little retail therapy is always good for the soul. I was going to unplug for 48 hours. I think I lasted about 48 minutes, maybe. Why is it that we can't just relax. Why must we be checking email, Facebook, twitter, pinterest, and that dreaded "to do" list is always nearby. I was going to write a blog post about[...]

MMM Pancakes

This morning I enjoyed the company of Larry and Nita.  They are a wonderful Oklahoma couple who celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with us.  (And I thought Scott and I were doing a great job making it to 20!!)  It is couples like this that inspire me.  Being married isn't easy and it isn't always fun but it is worth all the work when you find yourselves 40 years down the road  happy, content and spending quality time together.  I hope they had a great stay and I, very much, enjoyed cooking breakfast for them.  Speaking of....We had pecan pancakes (always[...]

Mountain Fork River Fly Fishing

One of the single most perfect mornings of my life was spent on the Mountain Fork River.  Just thinking about it brings a smile to my face.  Ahhhhh fly fishing on the Mountain Fork river.  I hired a guide and rented the proper equipment.  Equipment is very very important to fly fishermen/women.  In fact....it's all about the equipment.  You can't fish properly without the right "stuff".  I didn't catch a single fish that morning, in fact, I didn't get a single nibble.  Which, thinking back, probably made my experience better than if I had.  Touching a fish is not high on my list[...]
